PURPOSE:To automate a cutting work and to improve quality and productivity by a method wherein a device to measure a cutting tool and a device to mold are jointly used on a numerically controllable machine tool. CONSTITUTION:Based on comparison between initial data stored at an initial data memory part 2a and detecting data detected by a tool monitoring device 1 at a given time, necessity of molding for a cutting tool is decided by a molding necessity deciding part 2d. When molding is needed, a molding amount to produce a given molding state is computed by a molding amount computing part 2e. Meanwhile, based on comparison between initial data and detecting data, a cutting tool life is decided by a tool life deciding part 2c and a machining condition is corrected by a machining condition correcting part 2f. The wear state of a cutting tool by which influence is exercised on machining precision is periodically monitored, and a necessary measure, such as molding, tool exchange, correction of a machining condition, is applied. |
