<p>A process for producing a polyfluoropropionyl halide by oxidizing at least one dichloropentafluoropropane selected from 3,3-dichloro-1,1,1,2,2-pentafluoropropane and 1,3-dichloro-1,1,2,2,3-pentafluoropropane with oxygen in the presence of chlorine under light irradiation. The propionyl halide can be obtained from the halopropane in a high yield industrially advantageously. In the vapor-phase reaction, the halide can be produced in an extremely high reaction yield without causing decomposition of the target compound and corroding the glass of the light source and the material of the reactor even in a long-term reaction.</p> |
