PURPOSE: To provide an apparatus and method for detecting a body to be inspected in biological fluid. CONSTITUTION: The apparatus includes a separation matrix 2 for separating a body to be inspected from fluid and a means for detecting the body to be inspected. The separation matrix 2 preferably includes 70-150 millimol amount of HEPES buffer. The method, after applying a sample to the apparatus having the separation matrix 2, includes a detecting means 3 to detect the body to be inspected in the sample. The presence of HEPES in the separation layer shortens the detecting time.
