PURPOSE:To provide the load brake for a prosthetic leg with amplifies braking power without impairing the appearance of the prosthetic leg. CONSTITUTION:The thigh 1 and lower leg 2 of the prosthetic leg are connected by a knee 3 which is movable within a prescribed range to the thigh 1 and freely oscillatable to the lower leg 2. An input part which generates force by receiving the load in the axial line direction of the thigh 1 of a person wearing the prosthetic leg is disposed between the thigh 1 and the knee 3. The knee 3 is provided with an amplifying mechanism for amplifying the force generated in the input section and converting the direction of the force to a horizontal direction and brake actuators 27a, 27b which are moved by the force amplified by this amplifying mechanism. Brake shoes 33a, 33b are fixed to the positions of the lower leg 2 facing these brake actuators 27a, 27b. |
