<p>PURPOSE:To attain quick communication and to reduce maintenance management cost of the system by storing a metric value representing an optimum connection path to an internal table in the communication system connecting computer networks such as LAN. CONSTITUTION:A work station and a telephone set or the like are connected to plural nodes (3a-3c) and plural computer networks (1a-1d) are connected via a transmission line at communication to build up the system. Furthermore, routers (A1-An) are connected via plural paths 8 as network connectors (6a-6d). Each router is a kind of information processing unit such as a microcomputer and has a CPU 11 executing various information processing to a bus line 10 and a ROM 12 storing fixed data, and has a program sending each path information stored in the internal table 19 to other routers and retrieves an idle path for communication based on a metric value depending on the operating state of the path and interrupts other paths.</p> |
