<p>PURPOSE:To reproduce a video image with different picture quality by recording a low resolution picture and a high resolution picture to a recorder with less storage capacity. CONSTITUTION:First picture data generated by a CCD 30 and an A/D converter 26 are subjected to high efficiency cording by a DCT 20, a quantization device 22 and a Huffman coder 24 and the result is recorded on an IC memory card 10. High resolution picture data are generated from the 2nd picture data and the 1st picture data obtained from the CCD 30 and a CCD 31 whose output data are shifted by a half pixel in the horizontal direction, complementary data being a difference between the high resolution picture data and the 1st picture data are subjected to high efficiency coding by a DCT 21, a quantization device 23 and a Huffman coder 25 and the result is stored in the IC memory card 10. The high resolution picture data are reproduced based on the sum of the compensation data of the IC memory card 10 and data subjected to up-sampling of the 1st picture data.</p> |
