PURPOSE: To automatically decide the quality of crimped connection at the time of crimping a terminal for connection to a wire end, which is continuously supplied. CONSTITUTION: Terminals 20 and wires 22, which are to be continuously crimped for connection, are supplied between an anvil 16 and a punch 18 to be moved relative to each other by a reciprocating ram 14. This crimp device 10 has a pressure sensor 24 for measuring crimp pressure and a height (or position) sensor 30 for measuring crimp height, and inputs a pair of pressure and height data of a terminal 20 to be crimped for connection to a data processing device, such as a computer. These input data are compared with a pair of standard data, which are stored in a memory, by a data-processing device, and the crimp quality of the terminal 20 to be crimped is decided instantly. |
