STORAGE METHOD FOR ION EXCHANGE RESIN AND OPERATION PREPARATION METHOD FOR MIXED BED TYPE DESALTING DEVICE

PURPOSE:To provide a storage method for ion exchange resins and operation prepn. method of the mixed bed type condensate desalting device without contaminating the ion exchange resins during long-term storage and without contamination in restarting of operation. CONSTITUTION:The ion exchange resins are separated to an anion layer 2a in the upper part and a cation layer 2b in the lower part by back washing 13 utilizing a difference in the sp. gr. between the anion exchange resins and cation exchange resins and are stored in the separated state in the storage method for the ion exchange resins in a desalting column 1 while the mixed bed type condensate desalting device used for purification of the condensate system of a steam power generation plant is in a stoppage or halt state. After the total volume of the included water in the desalting column is first discharged 16 at the time of restarting the operation, pure water 11 is injected into the desalting column 4 from the upper part thereof down to the uppermost part of the resins and gaseous N2 or air 14 is injected into the desalting column from the lower part thereof to sufficiently mix the resins. The total amt. of the included water is then discharged 16 and the pure water is poured therein to fill the column with the water. The pure water is thus used for water flow operation.
