PURPOSE:To reduce energy necessary for the start of boiling to a large extent by rapidly evaporating a part of the ink in an ink liquid passage by subcool boiling caused by the formation of a fluctuation nucleus and emitting ink by the epansion force of an air bubble. CONSTITUTION:A drive IC part 6 and a Cr-Si-SiO alloy membrane resistor 3 are formed on a silicon substrate 1 to be driven by a common wiring conductor 4, an individual wiring conductor 5, a driver power supply wiring conductor 7 and a signal wiring conductor 8. A part of the ink in ink liquid passages 11, 12 is rapidly evaporated by subcool boiling caused by the formation of a fluctuation nucleus by supplying a pulse current to the heating resistor provided in the vicinity of an ink emitting orifice 9. Liquid drop like ink is emitted from the ink emitting orifice 9 by the expansion force of an air bubble to perform recording. After the supply of a pulse current to the heating resistor is started, the aforementioned boiling is started within 2muS and current supply pulse width is pref. set to 3muS or less. |
