Nuclear reactor comprising a vessel (11) with a plurality of coolant inlet and outlet openings (28, 30) linked to the normal reactor cooling system and a core shroud (36), within the vessel (11). The reactor comprises a cylinder (34) placed within the vessel (11), about the core shroud (36) to define an annular channel (38) between the core shroud (36) and the cylinder (34) and a cooling system comprising at least one emergency coolant injection pipe communicating with the annular channel (38) and at least two means (12, 14, 16, 18) for supplying emergency coolant to the injection pipe at different supply pressures.
