A resealable plastics bag has, adjacent the mouth of the bag, parallel spacers (21, 23) integrally formed and springing from the web (13) forming the bag and a strip (31) of adhesive between the spacers. The bag is sealed by deforming the opposite web (14) of the bag past the spacers to contact the adhesive. The spacers may be hinged to provide controlled deformation thereof to assist contact between the webs. The surface (19) of the web to which the adhesive is applied is treated to improve the adhesion of the adhesive, enabling the opposite web to be detached from the adhesive when the bag is re-opened without tearing the adhesive from the web surface between the spacers. |
