<p>A novel indole represented by general formula (1) or a salt thereof, having an antiviral activity against RNA viruses, especially, picornavirus, and thus being useful as a medicine for treating viral infections, wherein R1 represents at least one group selected from among hydrogen, halogen, nitro, cyano, optionally substituted lower alkyl, optionally substituted lower alkoxy, optionally substituted lower alkylthio, optionally substituted lower alkylcarbonyl or optionally substituted lower alkoxycarbonyl; R2 represents hydrogen, halogen, optionally substituted lower alkyl or optionally substituted lower alkoxy; R3 represents any of groups (a) or (b), wherein R4 represents at least one hydrogen atom or optionally substituted lower alkyl; and A represents oxygen, sulfur or NR5 wherein R5 represents hydrogen or lower alkyl.</p> |
