<p>PURPOSE: To enhance the stability of a club head by providing the toe and heel ends of the upper ridge which extends longitudinally along a head upper portion between a heel portion and a toe portion with an upper toe projecting portion having a greater shape than an upper ridge and an upper heel projecting portion, respectively, and forming the projecting portions into mass concentrating portions. CONSTITUTION: A large mass concentrating portion is disposed at the upper ridge 38 of a club head 20, and an upper heel projecting portion 52 having a greater shape than the upper ridge 38 is formed at the end of the heel 30 of the upper ridge 38 to form a mass concentrating portion. Similarly, an upper toe projecting portion 54 is formed at the end of the toe 32 of the upper ridge 38 to form a mass concentrating portion. The upper heel projecting portion 52 and the lower mass projecting portion 42 of the heel 30 work in combination to increase the total mass of the heel 30. Similarly, the upper toe projecting portion 54 of the toe 32 and the lower mass concentrating portion 44 of the toe 32 work in combination to increase the total mass of the toe 32. Thereby the heel-to-toe balance is enhanced.</p> |
