PURPOSE:To stably keep a bias voltage esp. applied to a counter electrode without an influence of a voltage applied to a transfer roll to form a high- quality recording image free from a fault in an image. CONSTITUTION:In an electrostatic recorder, a magnetic toner fed to a recording part W on a developing sleeve 15 is transferred to a counter electrode 6 in accordance with printing data, and the toner image transferred to the counter electrode 6 is electrostatically transferred to paper P by a high voltage Vt applied to a transfer roll 5. The toner image formed on the counter electrode 6 is transferred to the paper P by using the transfer roll 5 and the counter electrode 6, in which a relation between the contact resistance values of the both found as a result of measurement of a surface potential of the counter electrode 6 by a surface electrometer 20 is the contact resistance value of the transfer roll >= 100 X the contact resistance value of the counter electrode. |
