<p>The present invention comprises new methods for treating rheumatoid arthritis. It has been found that the L-type calcium channel antagonists are effective in treating arthritis. Dihydropyridines, phenylalkylamines, and benzyldiazepines are examples of the classes of L-type calcium channel antagonists encompassed by the invention. Nimodipine, nisoldipine, nifedipine, verapamil and diltiazem are examples of specific compounds useful in the present invention.</p> |
