PURPOSE:To provide a chain type controller for input/output capable of accurately judging an abnormal part when the abnormality of an external equipment is occurred in the controller for the input/output for assisting a main controller installed independent of the main body of an industrial robot and bearing the input and output of a sensor and a solenoid valve, etc. CONSTITUTION:This controller is provided with a temporary storage part 8 for temporarily storing the reception information of first and second high-speed communication means 9 and 10 for communicating with the main controller and an input/output device on the upstream side or the input/output device on the downstream side and the input/output information of a parallel input/ output circuit 11 and a communication means 14 for monitoring provided with a communication connector 14a connected to a personal computer for calling prescribed information from the temporary storage part 8 and transmitting it to the personal computer by a monitoring command from the personal computer.
