PURPOSE:To prevent the break accident of a saw wire, and also to enhance working efficiency by continuously detecting the amount of wear of guide rollers in such a state that the wire of the saw wire is traveled. CONSTITUTION:The guiding grooves of the respective guide rollers 18, 22 for guiding a wire 14 are made of a double construction consisting of a surface of nonconductive member and an inside of a conductive member 66 (not shown), and the conductive member is electrically connected with a ground. A current is passed by a power supply device 48 between the two points of the wire with the guide rollers 18, 22 therebetween out of the traveling route of the traveling wire 14, and the current value is measured by an ammeter 50 and is successively input into an arithmetic processing unit 56. In the arithmetic processing unit 56, the variation in the measured current value to the reference current value in the condition that there is no wear in the guide rollers 18, 22 is calculated, and when the variation reaches a prescribed value, an alarm device 60 notifies the wear limit of the guide rollers 18, 22. Thus, the amount of wear of the guide rollers 18, 22 can be continuously detected in such a state that the wire 14 is traveled. |
