<p>A prophylactic for mastitis comprising a combination of chitosan or a derivative thereof with a quaternary ammonium salt bactericide. It has a potent bactericidal activity and can form a good chitosan film, and hence can prevent mastitis effectively. Since it does not irritate the skin so much, it is less liable to cause heretofore problematic cracking of the nipple due to the use of a medicine.</p> |
