PURPOSE:To provide an operating force measuring device of simple construction that can provide a large detection signal in proportional to the action of an operating force and measure the size of the operating force independently of the direction of the operating force. CONSTITUTION:An optical filter 2, provided with a thin film layer 22 the radial light transmittance of which varies continuously or in steps, is located in a flexible cylinder 1 in which an operating force transmits directly or indirectly. On both sides of the optical filter 2 are located a light-emitting device that emits laser beam to the optical filter 2 and a light-receiving device 31, which laser beam enters after passing through the optical filter. The size of the operating force is measured on the basis of the intensity of light detected by the light-receiving device 31. |
