PURPOSE:To provide such a superior buckle for a seat belt that can have superior insertion performance of a tongue plate and fitting performance of webbing and can eliminate any possibility of the buckle main body interfering with a seat back inclined forward or making its rattling on a stroke face. CONSTITUTION:A buckle for a seat belt is provided with a collar member 40 which is inserted into a circular hole 31 formed on the tip of a stoke 30 so as to swingably support a buckle base 50 in the width direction of a seat in relation to the stoke 30 and a coil spring 20 which returns the buckle base 50 swinging in the width direction of the seat in relation to the stoke 30, to its initial position. An inclination part 45 which is projected so as to abut on the inner edge part of the circular hole 31 in the initial position of the buckle base 50 in relation to the stoke 30 is formed on the side face of a cylindrical part 42 of the collar member 40 positioned in a swinging end side of the buckle main body. |
