A control device for ancillaries installed on municipal or winter service vehicles has a display module (3) with an operating console (1) for setting the variables. There is a data bus between these and the control module (5). The bus is a CAN-bus (17). The modules and console are plugged into the bus. The bus is a twin wire bus. Besides this, there may be three to five wires used for power supply. The wires are all combined within a single cable of seven wires or less. Both the display module and the operating console can be unplugged from their original positions in the vehicle and plugged into the bus at other locations within the vehicle.
