Fat interceptor, preventing entry into sewerage systems from e.g. catering factories

The interceptor has a silt trap (1) for sediment, a fine material separation compartment (4), fat collection space with tub (5), a continuous fat overflow drain, with, significantly, a separate waste disposal container. The fat collection space and tube (5) are above the fines separation compartment (4), and below the water level. There is a descending, double walled dip tube (7), and a rising fat take-off standpipe. The double walled tube may be heated to keep the fat fluid, and/or there may similarly be a double walled cover. The fat collection space and tub (5) may be removable for maintenance and filling with solids. The fines separation compartment (4) has devices to control and distribute the flow.
