<p>The washing machine (10) carries out both the cleaning and the testing of the devices to be cleaned, in particular endoscopes, and has means for testing the leakproofness of the surface area of the device, the testing of the leakproofness being carried out periodically during the overall cleaning procedure. The machine moreover comprises means for testing the patency of the channels of the device before and after cleaning, and means for helping to wash through the channels by means of pneumatic impulsions. The device is situated in a tank (18) which is watertight so that the device is cleaned on the outside by immersion.
