<p>PURPOSE:To transmit a high-definition image with high compressibility by transmitting only the representative orthogonal transforming element or element number and the feature point of a texture border line for each texture class. CONSTITUTION:The border line and the feature point are detected by a contour line tracer feature point extraction part 4, information showing the position of the feature point of the border line for each texture area and a pattern number corresponding to an area inside the border line are transmitted to an encoding transmission part 6, and the encoding transmission part 6 transmits the information of the feature point of an image supplied from the contour line tracer feature point extraction part 4 and defined as the object of image information compression, the information supplied from a texture extraction part 5 to show the position of the feature point of the border line for each texture area and the pattern number corresponding to the area inside the border line to a received signal part 7. At a driving circuit 11, luminance information and the information of texture is successively read from an image memory 10 as time sequential signals and the read image signals, to which the texture information is added, are supplied to the driving circuit 11.</p> |
