PURPOSE:To make a weather strip excellent in durability, sound preventing property, weather resistance, antisticking property, antifreezing property, sliding property, hardwearing property and the like without impairing safety from fire in a coating environment and environmental sanitation by treating the surface with a specified silicone emulsion compsn. CONSTITUTION:This weather strip for an automobile consists of a foamed or non-foamed body of EPDM rubber, and its surface is coated with a silicone emulsion compsn. prepared by mixing and dispersing the following components A to D and curing by heating at 50-250 deg.C. The component A is a silicone emulsion comprising a diorganopolysiloxane containing primary amino groups, and an emulsifier and water, B is a silicone emulsion comprising an emulsifier, water and dimethylpolysiloxane having silanol groups on both ends and 1000-500000cP viscosity, C is gamma-glycidoxypropyl trimethoxy silane, and D is a dispersion comprising spherical polymethylsyl sesquioxane fine particles having specified particle size, a surfactant, and water. |
