<p>PURPOSE: To provide a method and device for managing controls on the screen of a computer-controlled display. CONSTITUTION: Controls are quickly and efficiently activated/ inactivated by designating many controls as control grouping. After a user terminates the movement of a cursor, in addition, the cursor is automatically positioned on an ideal control. In a preferable example, the ideal control is decided by (1) not taking all controls which are not visible from the user or arranged on a screen in a non-optimum state into consideration and (2) calculating the weighted distance to each remaining control. Then the cursor is automatically positioned on the control having the minimum reference weighted distance.</p> |
