<p>PURPOSE:To provide an automatic voltage regulator which can rapidly prevent stalling of revolution of an engine occurring when an excess load is temporarily applied to an engine generator at the time of starting a motor, etc., and control output power at that time to maximum power which can be realized. CONSTITUTION:An automatic voltage regulator (AVR) 14 for an engine generator so controls an exciting current that an output voltage of the generator becomes a target voltage, calculates power consumption of a load from the output voltage and a load current by a power calculator 54, and obtains maximum power to be supplied to the load based on power data set in response to output characteristics of an engine by an upper limit power generator 58 and an output frequency. When the power consumption is larger than the maximum power, a correction voltage calculator 60 calculates a correction amount DELTAVO responsive to a difference of the respective powers. A subtracter 50 subtracts the amount DELTAV0 from a reference voltage VO representing a target voltage of the generator.</p> |
