PURPOSE:To prevent such a case where the reception of TV broadcast suddenly becomes impossible. CONSTITUTION:In reference to a reception device, the error correction processing such as a convolutional coding operation, is applied to the input information series #1 that is least necessary for display of the recognizable images and the input information series #2, i.e., the additional information necessary for improvement of picture quality of the images. The data thus obtained are multiplexed and transmitted. The information series #1 undergoes the convolutional coding with a coding rate lower than the information series #2.
