A rake (4) and a spade (7) are joined into a single tool at the end of handles (1,2) with a common pivot. The rake is pivoted on a cross-piece (3) carrying the teeth and held by an extension spring (5) fixed to the cross-piece and on the handle. This allows the rake to be held in the working position when the handles are extended from each other.When the handle is folded in the middle, the spring action pushes the cross-piece and pivots it from the position perpendicular to the handle, the normal working position, to the position parallel to the handle. A pivot pin (8) eccentric to the pivoting axis (6) allows locking of the handles in the open working position. Pivoting of the pin allows unlocking of and folding of the tool.
