CERAMICS MADE OF 'KIRA' AND PRODUCTION THEREOF

PURPOSE:To provide a production method of ceramics made from 'kira' (mica) in which useless 'kira' (mica) and fused waste glass are used as the source material for a ceramic industry. CONSTITUTION:Granules of 'kira' (mica) which is a sludge produced in the mineral processing of a mineral deposit of silica sand, vitreous granules produced by fusing fly ash produced by incinerating city waste, and a forming agent are mixed and kneaded in proper mixing proportions to obtain a body. This body is molded, dried and burnt under such a burning temp. range with 1080 deg.C center temp. to sinter the components in the molded product with the vitreous material as a flux.
