In a process for prodn. of heat and noise insulation plates or components using recycled materials quantities of rubberized hair granules, mineral fillers, a binder and pieces of foamed material are mixed together in various ratios and in different particle sizes and pressed into plates (7) or blocks when hot. The claimed insulating plates (7) have surfaces (6) with various profiled patterns e.g. naps (9), recesses which engage with each in tongue and groove style to hold two plates (7) together on the faces.
