<p>PURPOSE:To make the shaft of an AC generator for vehicle shorter in length without lowering the performance of cooling of brush retaining device. CONSTITUTION:A brush retaining device 15 houses two brushes 16 which are brought into contact with a slip ring 18 perpendicularly to the rotating shaft of an AC generator for vehicle in a retaining case 23 and is put inside at the inside-diameter end of a cooling fan 8 so that the device 15 can overlap the retaining device 15 by a prescribed amount in the axial direction. The retaining device 15 is fixed to a rear housing 2 so that the device 15 can be counterposed to a suction window HIa. Therefore, the length of the shaft 9 of the AC generator can be reduced without lowering the performance of cooling the retaining device 15.</p> |
