PURPOSE:To provide a flat linear pulse motor drive apparatus and a drive method by which a large drive torque can be generated by using a flat linear pulse motor which is identical to that in conventional cases. CONSTITUTION:An electrifying phase is adjusted by a regulator 200 so as to exceed pi/4. When the electrifying phase is adjusted to as to exceed pi/4 in this manner, the linearity of a generated torque with reference to the change in the electrifying phase is lowered. However, according to the magnitude of the electrifying phase, a current regulator 103 increases the effective value of an exciting current to prevent the linearity of the generated torque from lowering. When the electrifying phase is adjusted to exceed pi/4 and the effective value of the exciting current is increased in this manner, it is possible to generate a large drive torque. |
