<p>PURPOSE:To provide an ordinary connecting section for power cable in which a signal generated by partial discharge can be easily detected outside a connecting box when the partial discharge occurs. CONSTITUTION:An external shielding layer 3 which electrically connects the metallic shielding layers of two power cables 1 to each other is provided with a slit (opening) 4. A connecting box 10 is constituted of a pair of metallic pipes 5a and 5b and an insulating pipe 6 put between the pipes 5a and 5b and the pipes 5a and 5b are electrically connected to each other through a bonded wire 7. When partial discharge occurs, a wide-band signal (partial discharge signal) is generated and propagated in the length direction of the cables 1. When the signal is generated, part of the signal leaks out of an external shielding layer 3 through the slit 4, because the slit 4 is formed through the layer 3 and further leaks out of the connecting box 10 through the insulating pipe 6. Therefore, the partial discharge can be detected when a partial discharge sensor is provided on the outside of the box 10.</p> |
