Novel tetrazolinone derivatives of the fommula: (I) <IMG> wherein R1 represents alkyl, haloalkyl, cycloalkyl, alkenyl, haloalkenyl, alkynyl or phenyl which may be substituted, R2 represents alkyl, haloalkyl, cycloalkyl, alkenyl, haloalkenyl, alkynyl or phenyl which may be substituted, R1 and R2 may form, together with the nitrogen atom to which R1 and R2 are bonded, a 5- or 6-menbered heterocyclic ring, said heterocyclic ring may be benzofused and may be substituted by one or more C1-4 alkyl, R1 represents nitro, halogen, alkyl, haloalkyl, alkoxy, haloalkoxy, alkylthio or phenoxy, and n represents an integer of 0, 1, 2 or 3, and when n represents 2 or 3, then R3 may be same or different, and their use as herbicides.
