<p>PURPOSE:To reduce a cell abort rate by congestion by controlling a cell transmission speed with an ATM terminator or an ATM exchange depending on a congestion level in an ATM (asynchronous transfer mode) network system. CONSTITUTION:When an ATM exchange 3 detects congestion, a 1st level congestion OAM cell is sent to an ATM terminator 21 being a cause to the congestion and the ATM terminator 21 reduces a cell transmission speed. When the exchange 3 detects congestion of a heavy degree, the exchange 3 sends a 2nd level congestion OAM cell to the ATM exchange 1 being a cause to congestion, and the ATM exchange 1 reduces the cell transmission speed and converts the OAM cell into a 1st level congestion OAM cell and sends it to the ATM terminator 21 being a cause to congestion.</p> |
