PURPOSE:To make it possible to obtain high-luminance images and to attain miniaturization concerning production of a liquid crystal projector and a transparent plate used for the same. CONSTITUTION:This liquid crystal projector has liquid crystal panels 11R, 11G, 11B, microlenses 12 for increasing the incident light on these liquid crystal panels 11R, 11G, 11B, incident side polarizing plates 14A which can transmit and intercept the incident light on the liquid crystal panels 11R, 11G, 11B and exit side polarizing plates 14B which can transmit and intercept the exist light from the liquid crystals 11R, 11G, 11B. Transparent plates 15 which have photoelastic characteristics partially or over the entire part is arranged on the optical path between the incident side polarizing plates 14A and the exit side polarizing plates 14B. |
