<p>PURPOSE:To obtain a melting process of a copper or a copper alloy, by which a large quantity of scrap raw material can be used and a material having the ordinary refining lower limit or below of sulfur concn. in a low cost. CONSTITUTION:The copper base raw material is melted, and after raising the temp. at the m.p. or at the liquidus +(50-500 deg.C), a desulfurizing agent mixing one or more kinds among CaO, Ca(OH)2 and CaCO3 and 0-50wt% the ratio of one or more kinds among BaF2, BaCl2, NaF, NaCl, NaCO3, Na2O, NaOH, CaCl2, F2, KF KCl, K2CO3, KOH, LiF, LiCl, Li2CO3 and LiOH to the total of the CaO etc., or a mixed material of this desulfurizing agent and carbon powder having <10% of the desulfurizing agent wt., is added in the range of 0.3-30% the desulfurizing agent wt. as the base to the molten metal wt. and held. Successively, at the time of removing the desulfurizing agent after reaction, or at the time of further adding the desulfurizing agent or the mixed material of the desulfurizing agent, the surface of the molten metal is beforehand covered with charcoal or a material containing >=50% carbon.</p> |
