The artificial polyamide suede is produced by (a) composite spinning fiber-formable polyamide as an island component and a polymer with less or no affinity to polyamide as a sea component to make a polyamidic composite fiber, (b) carding, cross lapping and needle punching the fiber to make a nonwoven fabric, (c) hot dipping, shrinking and drying it to make a web, (d) dipping a resin solution mixed with a dyeability improver and a polyurethane elastomer into the web, and (e) microfiberizing, surface polishing and dyeing the web. The dyeability improver is obtained by copolymerizing a cpd. of formula (I), i.e. poly(dimethyl aminoethyl methacrylate) with a cpd. of formula (II), i.e. poly(lauryl methacrylate). In the formulas, R is H or CH3; R1 is -(CH2)n-; R2 and R3 are each C1-10 alkyl; R4 is alkyl, aryl or hydroxyalkyl.
