MAGNETIC CYLINDER

PURPOSE:To obtain a magnetic cylinder in which reduction in the cost and weight of the magnetic cylinder as well as the abrasion resistance of a driving shaft are satisfied by employing a flange made of a synthetic resin and making the outer circumferential part of the shaft partially or entirely of a metal. CONSTITUTION:A stainless steel ring member 15 is fitted to the bearing part of a shaft 13 in a synthetic resin flange body 17. The outside diameter of the shaft 13 is partially reduced and the length and thickness of the stainless steel ring member 15 are set such that the shaft 13 is finished with a constant outside diameter. The ring member 15 is fitted by normal insert molding at the time of injection molding the flange 9. In order to prevent idling of the shaft 13, a knurling is provided at the boundary between the stainless steel ring 15 and the shaft 13 or the shaft 13 is fitted in a recess 23 made in the inner periphery of the ring 15 after molding.
