<p>PURPOSE: To reduce NOx in an exhaust gas by providing a means for cooling the exhaust gas exhausted from an engine in the exhaust system of the engine. CONSTITUTION: A NOx reduction device 50 with a cooling means 52 is provided in an exhaust emission control system 4. In the exhaust emission control system 4, mist-like water of specified pressure is jetted into the first chamber 10-1 of a body section 12 from a jet nozzle 18 to repidly cool the exhaust gas flowing into the first chamber 10-1 from an exhaust pipe upstream of this system, and the composition in the exhaust gas is finely pulverized to form products of carbon. Water and the products drop on the peripheral wall 8 below the first chamber 10-1 and are recovered by a recovering section 28, and are separated by first and second filters 40-1 and 40-2. The separated water is returned to a recovered fluid storage section 34 through a suction section 36 and supplied to a compression section 22 to be jetted again into the first chamber 10-1 through a second supply passage 32. The products are taken out at a specified interval or after being used for a given time and cleaned or replaced by a cartridge system.</p> |
