METHOD AND DEVICE FOR APPLYING PLASTIC FINISHING LAYER TO SURFACE OF COMPOSITE ITEM AS WELL AS COATED COMPOSITE ITEM

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To improve the adhesion of a layer and the dimensional determination of a coated article by fixing a reinforcing fiber bundle to the surface of an extruded plastic base body and making the inlet diameter of a ring for applying a finishing layer to the surface of a composite article larger than the outlet diameter thereof and reducing and changing the inner diameter of the ring between the inlet and outlet thereof. SOLUTION: In an apparatus for applying a finishing layer 7 to the surface of a composite article having a circular cross section comprising a cylindrical bar 5 reinforced by the spiral winding of a reinforcing fiber bundle 6, a ring 1 is arranged within the axial line of an excessive extruder 9. The ring 1 has an inlet 2 and an outlet 3 having a smaller diameter and the inner surface 4 of the ring is reduced in its inner diameter to be displaced. The excessive extruder 9 is equipped with a central orifice 8 through which reinforced articles 5, 6 pass and an annular inside space 10 receiving the supply of a molten plastic. The inside space is converged to terminate at an annular peripheral orifice 11 through which the molten plastic flows.
