HETERO-FILAMENT COMPOSITE YARN

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain a heterofilament composite yarn having diversified properties, to be used in such applications as monofilaments, industry and tire components. SOLUTION: This heterofilament composite yarn is obtained by the following steps: a plurality of heterofilaments each composed of a core component of a synthetic polymeric material having a specified melting temperature and a sheath component of polybutylene terephthalate lower in melting temperature than the above polymeric material are prepared and then bundled into a single multifilament bundle followed by melting the above sheath component to make a single multifilament composite yarn.
