PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To maintain synchronization for signal processing by generating a readout signal from a FIFO memory until all data are read out from a second block from which an error signal is detected and interrupting restoring operations until the next second block is impressed. SOLUTION: A VLD I/F section 200 outputs a readout signal RE in response to a data request signal RQ from a variable length decoder 300 when no error signal ER is inputted from an EOB error detector 400. When the I/F section 200 inputs the error signal ER, the section 200 generates the signal RE until all data are read out from the second block of a FIFO memory 100 from which the error signal ER is detected without responding to the data request signal RQ. A control section 500 interrupts the decoding operations of the decoder 300 when the error signal ER is inputted by using another control signal and restarts the restoring operations when the next second block of the second block is impressed. Therefore, synchronization for signal processing can be maintained, because normal decoding can be performed from the next block.
|
