<p>PURPOSE: To detect feeding inferiority of a staple sheet from a staple cartridge to a staple driving position so as to prevent vacant driving of the stapler due to staple jam before happening, when record sheets discharged from a sorter or a finisher such as a copying machine, a printer, etc., are stapled after arranged. CONSTITUTION: A stapler for a sheet after-treatment device is provided with a no-staple sensor 108a for detecting the presence or absence of a staple sheet 105 in a staple cartridge 104 and a staple slogging sensor 108b for detecting the presence or absence of a staple sheet 105 in a staple driven position. Supply conditions of the staple sheet 105 to the staple driving position are diagnosed based on detection signals of these no-staple sensor 108a and staple clogging sensor 108b so that exchange of a staple cartridge 104 or removal of staple jam is accurately informed to users and vacant driving of the stapler 100 can be prevented before happening.</p> |
