PURPOSE:To execute restoration after previously executing processing such as the maintenance of exclusive control information by resetting a shared channel after obtaining concents from all virtual computers to be used at the time of generating a channel error in the shared channel. CONSTITUTION:When a virtual computer VM(1)2-1 e.g. receiving the information of a channel error from the shared channel 4-1 through a CP 3 generates a channel reset instruction for resetting all devices managed by the shared channel 4-1 to the CP 3 in order to restore the channel error, the CP 3 informs an artificial channel error to other VM(2)2-2, 2-3, receives the answer of the channel reset instruction and then executes the channel reset instruction for the shared channel 4-1 to reset all the devices managed by the shared channel 4-1. Consequently, the maintenance of the exclusive control information of a DASD device managed by the shared channel 4-1 is executed, and under the status that a data set is prevented from being damaged or the like, the devices managed by the shared channel 4-1 generating a fault can be recovered. |
