PURPOSE: To provide a detection system for relative position between moving bodies by which a warning and an emergency stop due to an abnormal approach or the like are controlled surely only by installing the detection system on a mobile body and which can be operated economically and safely. CONSTITUTION: Information on the system own position which is found on the basis of the output of a GPS receiver 4 or a speed detection device 8 is transmitted by a control part 6 from an antenna 3 through the transmission part of a radio device 5. Information, on positions of other moving bodies, which is transmitted from the other moving bodies is received by the reception part of the radio device 5. On the basis of the information on its own position and the information on the positions of the other moving bodies, the relative distance (f) between its own moving body and the other mobile bodies is found so as to be displayed on a warning display part 9. Consequently, without installing a special apparatus on the ground or the like, the relative distance between the moving bodies can be computed. As a result, a safety speed required so as to correspond to a distance up to a preceding moving body can be maintained always surely, and a warning and an emergency stop due to an abnormal approach or the like are controlled surely. |
