PURPOSE: To provide a high photosensitivity over a wide wavelength range and provide a large open voltage by a method wherein a CdS film is formed and, after the surface of the CdS film is reduced by a wet method, a CdTe film is formed. CONSTITUTION: A CdS film 2 is formed chemically on an SnO2 substrate 1 which is composed of a glass substrate 10 and an SnO2 film 11 formed on it by a wet method and deposited. After that, the surface of the CdS deposited substrate is chemically reduced by hydrazine. After the surface of the CdS thin film 2 is reduced and a new surface layer is formed, a CdTe film 4 is provided so as to form a pattern. Then the substrate is dipped into a methanol solution of CdCl2 and, after the substrate is dried, the substrate is heated in an inert atmosphere to make the surface layer absorbed into the CdTe film 4. A solar cell manufactured like this has a high short circuit current density and a high open voltage by which a high conversion efficiency can be obtained. |
