The oscillating frequency of an oscillator equipped in a multisync. monitor is controlled by a microcomputer according to frequency of synchronous signal transmitted from a video card. The apparatus includes a synchronous signal processor(10) for processing video synchronous signal transmitted from a video card, a D/A converter(40) for converting the oscillator control signal transmitted from a microcomputer into digital signal, an oscillator(30) for generating frequency signal, a microcomputer(20) for generating a oscillator control signal according to synchronous signal detected in the synchronous signal processor(10), switches(SW1, SW2) for switching a synchronous signal supplied to the oscillator(30), and a buffer(50) for supplying frequency signal to the microcomputer.
