Powdery agent for treating domestic refuse containers

An agent is introduced into bins in which households collect organic refuse. The novelty is that the agent is a powdery mixture of an alkaline substance (pref. calcium hydroxide 25-50 vol.% ) which binds organic acids, an oxidising substance (pref. potassium peroxo-monosulphate, 5-25 vol.%), and a hygroscopic substance (pref. bentonite, 25-50 vol.%).
